Honda BRIO – The City Car Unveiled To Compete With Ford Figo

Honda recently unveiled the BRIO at the Royal Paragon Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. The Brio is supposedly a city car which will be contesting for market space with Ford Figo. Designed as a prototype, the Brio comes at 3,610mm in length, 1,680mm in width and 1,475mm in height. The model is fueled by an appropriate engine, a 1.2l i-VTEC matched to either a manual 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission. The fuel consumption values for the model came around 5l/100 km.

Checking out the interiors, the essential cabin is pretty simple but the thing to be remembered is it’s being developed for emerging markets such as India and Thailand. Regardless of this, the BRIO will apparently offer air conditioning which is a bonus for hot and humid climates in southeast Asia. Atsushi Fujimoto, Honda Thailand president said, “The Brio will meet the driving and lifestyle needs of people who are looking for a stylish and compact, yet spacious and fuel-efficient car that carries a brand that they can trust for its advanced and safety technologies.”

Honda has not revealed the price of the car or even the targets it plans to achieve, but it has clearly stated that the Thai market will be receiving about 40,000 units alone per year.
